Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award Ceremony at the Red Town Hall

Last week, eleven of our students from Grades 10 and 11 received their Duke of Edinburgh’s International Bronze Award certificates in a special ceremony at the Rotes Rathaus (Red Town Hall). The event took place under the patronage of the Governing Mayor of Berlin and was hosted by His Excellency Andrew Mitchell, CMG, the British Ambassador to Germany, and Christina Henke, State Secretary.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a globally recognized youth development programme that encourages young people to challenge themselves, discover new interests, and develop essential life skills. Through volunteering, physical activities, skill-building, and adventurous expeditions, participants learn perseverance, teamwork, and social responsibility — qualities that help them grow both personally and academically.
We are extremely proud of our students for their commitment, determination, and enthusiasm throughout this journey. Some of them are already continuing their adventure by working toward the Silver Award, and we wish them every success as they take on the next level of this inspiring programme.
Our heartfelt thanks go to our dedicated Duke of Edinburgh team — Ms. Kappes, Dr. Bachorz, Mr. Daley, Mr. Kaminski, and Ms. McBane — for their continuous support, encouragement, and exceptional guidance. Their commitment makes it possible for our students to take part in such a meaningful and rewarding experience.
With this wonderful achievement, we would also like to wish our entire school community a relaxing and enjoyable autumn holiday.
