We’re are hiring: Cook at Platanus Kindergarten

We are looking for a motivated part-time cook (25 to 30 hours per week) to join our international team at Platanus Kindergarten, starting now.

In our kindergarten, we attach great importance to healthy food and encourage children to enjoy eating by providing fresh, varied and nutritious meals.

Your tasks:

• preparation of healthy and balanced meals for the children
• planning of weekly menus (lunch and snacks) taking into account dietary requirements and allergies
• purchase fresh ingredients and maintain stocks in accordance with food laws and health authority regulations
• ensuring cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
• collaboration with the educational team to make mealtimes a positive experience

Your profile:

• completed training as a professional cook or comparable qualification
• experience in community catering, ideally in the area of children’s nutrition
• knowledge of healthy nutrition and special diets (e.g. allergies, vegetarian/vegan diet)
• proof of attendance of a hygiene and health course (e.g. in accordance with Section 43 of the Infection Protection Act)
• knowledge of the Berlin regulations on food hygiene and safety
• team player and good communication skills
• creativity and enjoyment of cooking and working with children
