\u201cCamp Adventure\u201d is an organisation, who since 2002 have combined the positive aspects of German holiday activities and Canadian summer camps. As part of our Work & Travel program, at the end of May we travelled to the wild and adventurous camp in the L\u00fcneburger Heide.
\nAfter arriving and building our field beds in the big tents, we spent five exciting and thrilling days doing creative and sporty outdoor activities and physical and mental challenges. We had a go at everything and are proud that we overcame many challenges. At times, we were pushed to our limits but we all took part and supported one another all the time.
\nOur camp councillor, Renske, was from the Netherlands and Jacob from the USA. The two of them guided and supported us in the following activities:
\n– Team building games
\n– Balancing ourselves hand in hand through the low rope garden without falling
\n– During survival training, we had to cross a stream using a tense rope, construct dens from natural materials in the forest, build a raft and, of course, test them
\n– Learning to keep each other safe while climbing as high as possible, individually and in groups of three
\n– Archery
\n– Making a fire with very few materials by ourselves
\nBeside all these exciting activities, we had enough time to relax, to celebrate Mia\u2019s birthday with a cake baked by one of the councillors, to sit at the camp fire and sing songs and to dance at the disco. We ran and climbed, sweated during early sports in the morning, got frozen in the tents, swam in the lake and laughed a lot.
\nAt times, it was really hard but the days spent in \u201cCamp Adventure\u201d was fun for everyone. The most important thing we learned during this time was that together we can achieve more!<\/p>\n
