Once a week, approximately 12 students from grades three to six meet with Ms. Totzauer and Frau Koglin in the library. Together they discuss current events; write, proof-read and edit articles; print, copy and staple the newspaper; and sell the final product.<\/p>\n<p>The students involved with the producing the \u201cPlatanus Post\u201d are entirely responsible for the newspaper \u2013 from the original idea of what to report on, ensuring they have appropriate images to match their articles, up to selling the printed product.<\/p>\n<p>We write about everything that is important to us, and provide the students of Platanus with lots of information, ideas and puzzles.\u00a0 Some examples include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interesting interviews with the staff<\/li>\n<li>Articles in German and English about current events (eg. the opening of the new school playground, the wild Carnival party, the Magic Movie Motion Night, the visit from the Malaysian delegates, class trips)<\/li>\n<li>Interesting facts about the holidays all over the world (Easter and the Pentecost, St. Patrick\u2019s Day)<\/li>\n<li>Film and book reviews and recommendations<\/li>\n<li>Fun puzzles, games and colouring-in pictures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students particularly love the interviews that take place. Whether it be about Mr. Kelly, our volunteers (FSJler) Amalie and Jonathan, or the Malaysian delegates, all of our interviews are done with professionalism, and of course either in German or English. We are quite good at using the dictation machines and Dudens.<\/p>\n<p>Regularly we publish the opinions of our peers which are obtained through surveys: Do you like the school food? Are there enough toys in the school playground?
