Jonas Lühmann
Head of School Co-Curricular Enrichment Program – Years 1 to 13
Jonas Lühmann is responsible for the students in Years 1 to 13 and guides the educational, pedagogical and administrative work of the Erzieher*innen and the club leaders during school time and during the holidays.
Mr. Lühmann moved from the North German province to Magdeburg, Savannah and Hamburg to study education and educational science after completing his Abitur and civilian service.
In addition to the university’s curricular focus on media education and adult education, he was particularly interested in the theoretical consideration and practical implementation of pedagogy in everyday school life.
His interest in living education in the learning and social space of schools is reflected in his own research for his final thesis and subsequent career choice.
In recent years, Mr Lühmann has worked enthusiastically at Berlin primary schools in Neukölln and Schöneberg as a team leader in all-day care, as well as several years in the USA as an after-school teacher at the German International School Boston.
In all of these schools, he particularly appreciated the productive collaboration between the multi-professional staff and a lively, international school community. Above all, Jonas Lühmann always endeavours to create a stimulating learning environment for all students that retains curiosity for new things and leaves room for individual hunger for knowledge.
Outside of Platanus school, Mr Lühmann enjoys sports, culture and good conversation the most.
