Learning in the Heart of Berlin-Pankow
The district of Pankow, located in the north-east of Berlin, is particularly popular with families. Attractive residential areas, spacious parks and green spaces, vibrant cultural venues, cosy cafés and restaurants, as well as a wide range of shopping options – from weekly markets and small local shops to modern shopping centres – shape the surroundings of our school.
Our campus is centrally located in the heart of Pankow and benefits from excellent public transport connections. The underground and suburban railway stations, as well as several bus and tram stops, are all within easy walking distance.
The school’s main building is a listed historic building dating back to 1923, originally used as a post office. Thanks to extensive and carefully planned renovations, the building’s historic charm has been preserved while creating modern, bright and welcoming classrooms, subject rooms and common areas.
Each class has its own dedicated classroom, where most lessons take place. For students in Grades 1 to 4, an additional all-day care room is located directly next door, providing space for learning, relaxation and play.
Our campus also offers fully equipped subjects rooms for science, music and art, as well as early-morning and late-afternoon care rooms, a computer lab, a school library, a workshop and several group rooms.
Students enjoy their lunch and snacks in our large, light-filled cafeteria, with an outdoor terrace that can be used in good weather.
On the third floor of the main building, our sports hall is located in the former telecommunications centre of the historic post office. It is used for physical education during bad weather and also serves as an assembly hall for school events. In good weather, sports lessons take place at the nearby Kissingen Stadium, approximately one kilometre away or two bus stops from the school. Swimming lessons are held at the Thomas Mann Swimming Pool in Prenzlauer Berg, with students transported by a dedicated school bus.
Directly next to the main building is a modern extension, the Second House, which offers four spacious and bright classrooms for our secondary school students.
In the neighbouring building at Berliner Straße 13, two additional classrooms and a Student Lounge are available for students in Grades 7 to 10. The Student Lounge serves as a learning and working space as well as a break and common area.
Our schoolyard features a variety of play and sports facilities, including climbing and play equipment, a ball cage, table tennis tables, benches and an outdoor chill-out lounge, offering plenty of opportunities for play, movement and relaxation before and after lessons. A sports pitch is also available for physical education classes, extracurricular activities and break-time sports.
A particular highlight of our campus is the Green Space, a school garden with fruit trees, raised beds, berry bushes and a variety of bee- and butterfly-friendly plants. When weather permits, lessons can also take place outdoors in this inspiring environment.
If you would like to experience our school in person, we warmly invite you to attend our Open Day. In addition, you can explore our campus through a virtual 360-degree panoramic tour.

Platanus Kindergarten – A Place to Feel at Home
After around four years of planning and construction, our kindergarten at Stiftsweg opened its doors. From the initial idea in 2020 to completion in June 2024, it was a long but rewarding journey – and now the modern, lovingly designed building is full of life.
In addition to bright and welcoming group rooms, our kindergarten offers a variety of functional areas dedicated to movement and sports, learning and reading, music, and creative activities.
All sanitary facilities are fully child-friendly: the nursery area includes changing and shower facilities as well as mini toilets and wash areas, while the upper floor features child-sized showers, toilet areas, and wash facilities.
Our kindergarten also has a spacious garden, divided into two play areas: a sheltered area directly behind the building for the nursery groups and a larger area with climbing and play equipment for the older children. In the children’s workshop, children plant and care for herbs, vegetables, and flowers in lovingly designed raised beds together with the educators – a small green learning space in the heart of the neighbourhood.
Our kindergarten therefore combines modern facilities, thoughtfully designed spaces, and nature-based experiences to provide children with an ideal environment for play, creativity, and early learning.
