Simon Gaunt

Head of School – Years 4 and 5, Subject Teacher English, Mathematics, Science & Social Studies

Simon Gaunt is responsible in the school leadership team for the children and the team of teachers in Years 4 and 5. Simon was born and grew up in Bury in the north west of England and later attended the University of Birmingham where he graduated in BA Cultural Studies and Sociology. In 2005 he moved to Berlin and eventually ended up working with children in language camps and as teacher support in a bilingual primary school in Charlottenburg where he developed an interest in working with children in an educational capacity.
After undertaking the PGCE course he graduated from the University of Manchester in 2012 as a qualified primary school teacher and taught for one year in a primary school in Manchester. Since then, he has been working as an English and Science and Social Sciences subject teacher and currently teaches in Year 4. Out of the classroom he enjoys riding his bike and attending, as well as occasionally performing at, concerts around the vibrant city of Berlin.
