Topping-Out Ceremony: On the Path to a Carbon-Neutral School!
Last Friday, we celebrated a special event at the construction site on Berliner Straße 12: the topping-out ceremony for the top floor of Berliner Straße 13! At the beginning of next year, our team will move into the adjacent building, where they will work in new, modern spaces.
The inviting, bright workspaces, meeting rooms, and break areas will create a pleasant work atmosphere and further promote communication and collaboration within our team. This expansion of the top floor represents a significant step in our school’s development, as we are not only creating modern workspaces here but also setting new standards for sustainability.
A highlight of the new building is the photovoltaic system installed on the roof. This sustainable energy source will allow us to cover a substantial part of our electricity needs on-site while protecting the environment. With this, we are taking a major step as a European Eco-School toward carbon neutrality, strengthening our commitment to climate protection.
We look forward to working together with our team in the new spaces and would like to thank Sabine Schoenermark for her dedication to the planning and oversight of the construction, as well as the planners and all the companies involved in the building process.
