Our Platanus Winter Concert 2023 with wonderful Christmas Spirit

We are delighted to tell you about the wonderful winter concert that took place in our school the day before yesterday. An atmospheric programme of enchanting Christmas songs, poems and great show acts in our festively lit and beautifully decorated gym put us all in a festive mood.

A highlight was the performance by our Platanus-Staff-Band, who rocked the stage. Our teacher Ms Qavi was particularly cool with her impressive hoola-hoop show, which surprised and amazed the audience. But our other colleagues were also musically impressive: our music teachers Ms Minella and Ms Hansen on piano, guitar, ukulele and drums; Mr Daley with his saxophone solo; Ms. Kappes on the drums, our rock stars Mr Gaunt on electric guitar, Mr Sahebi on bass and Mr Lüer on acoustic guitar and of course our great singers, Ms Parr, Ms Wernst, Ms Schwalenberg and Ms Sejnoha.

But the absolute superstars were of course our students – whether in solo performances, in the joint class performances, with English and German Christmas carols, with lead dancers, an outstanding conductor, dance show in Christmas pyjama trousers, on various instruments or reciting poems – YOU WERE JUST GREAT!!!!

Mulled wine, children’s punch and Christmas treats as well as various activities were offered in the Mensa and on the festively decorated schoolyard. We will donate the proceeds of an incredible EUR 2,519.39 to the organisation “Ärzte ohne Grenzen e.V.”. We would like to thank all parents and colleagues for their generosity and are very pleased with the great willingness to donate in our school community.

The winter concert was a wonderful start to the Christmas holidays. We wish you a Merry Christmas, happy holidays and a peaceful time with your loved ones as well as a good start to the New Year 2024.
